Painting Fundamentals: Two Brush Blending

Saturday, 10am-12pm ★ Skill Level: Any ★ Price: $25/ticket ★ Max Seats: 18

Meg Maples, former Privateer Press Staff painter and award winning artist, teaches the main technique used in the Privateer Press Painting Studio. She had to learn this technique in order to produce display level models very quickly. 2 Brush Blending utilizes two brushes of differing sizes in order to blend the paint evenly over the basecoat color. This produces a very smooth gradient in a short amount of time.

Students are required to bring a miniature that has a large flat surface such as a shield or large cloak, palette (dry well is recommended), 2 watercolor brushes of any brand that are sizes 2 and 3 pointed round such as Winsor & Newton Series 7 (not the miniature sized Series 7), and a lamp if they prefer. Small brushes will make learning this technique very difficult.

Meg will provide water cups, paper towels and a set of P3 paints to use during the class.
